Most of the status aliment stacks comes from equipment instead of kung fu. If you really want to stack poison on enemy simply wear equipments that give poison will do. There's no need to tunnel vision yourself with a specific kung fu punch move that gives 4 stacks of poison to your enemy, when your equipments can reliably gives like 30 stacks of poison per turn.
Spikes (return damage when getting hit) however is pretty good and it's a reliable build you can do. Even some NPC runs it and they're borderline impossible to beat without cheesing because even if you do anything right and beat them in the rock paper scissors game in combat you'll just get killed by yourself with returning damage.
That being said, there's a specific weapon that gives you the passive ability of adding 5 stacks of poison to your enemy per 100 damage you inflict during battle, and that's one way to cheese the game by killing people without suffering the murderer penalty.
I got to where I put hundreds of stacks of poison on an opponent, but could never leverage that into damage DURING the fight. It would just royalty mess them up after the fight.
