Eagle pet

When people talk about useful pets for fighting why dont they ever mention the eagle, its always there to help like the ferret and snake, and you can ride it to fly, sure it can be knocked out but nothing stops you from taming another one

The Eagle can't help you in combat because it always fly up high in the sky. You have to deliberately summon them back on the ground before it can join the combat. It also subject to environment debuff such as heat, and cold (it is immune while high in the sky) while ferret, and snake are totally immune while they are on you even if your character can take heat/cold debuff.

pretty sure my eagle helps even when in the sky,
also didn't the 1.2 update make pets immune to environmental effects?
