Drunken Immortal sect

Hey guys,

I've joined Drunken Immortal sect to get brewing recipes and that has not been going well.
After joining, I started looking for any chat options to buy/get/earn the recipes and did not find anything, neither on the elder, the master, nor on any disciples.

"I may be too low rank for this" I thought. "If I take over the sect, SURELY I'll get those recipes somehow". I've started beating the elder for prestige and got to 1.1k prestige as Inner disciple. However.. now I'm stuck.

1) I Can't challenge sect master because of the following message from him:
"Unable to challenge. Higher level required" You need to be higher level to challenge me.
2) No options are available on the sect master to promote to elder (I assume that's what I need to challenge the master)
3) After the beating, the elder is very low on both loyalty and prestige. Should I just keep using her as a punching bag until she quits? is that the way to promotion? I kind of don't want to kill anyone if possible...
4) Will this actually help me to get the damn recipes? I'm really starting to doubt that taking over the sect was the dev intended path to get them.

Please advice what to do to promote and take over the sect. Also, is that the way to get the recipes? Am I missing something?

First of all some of them are great, but they're a P.I.T.A to make cos of how wine making is coded in... it's a mess...

Influence. Is always where those are located in the dialogue options as I'm sure you know. Should have already had access to at least some of them from any elder right off the bat.

point 2 however, seems to me like you're mistaking individual opinion/loyalty of sect members with the sect prestige system. Having +1k opinion/loyalty with one of them doesn't mean squat even if its the master, you need it on a LOT of them. You should use the challenge option on who you can of your level moving up the ranks, getting promotions then challenging the higher guys. You can check your reputation in the R menu under sect iirc.

I was not mixing up individual opinion and loyalty - the option to promote, unlike the first promotion, was hidden under Talk > Influence.

Thanks for confirming that everything was supposed to be hidden under influence - after a lightbulb moment I turned off all mods and hey, found it all!

Ah that's what it was, yeah should have thought of that one as an alternative. It can be hard to diagnose issues people have in TMKF sometimes and certainly the dialogue options are always a common factor lol.

No thanks required but naturally appreciated, I'm just glad you solved the issue. I suggest giving the discord channel a try, usually someone there can help you out with a question or issue. Also easier to communicate better in real time.
