How do i start the kung fu contest

last time i did my quest was talking to the bar keep, after that i dont have any clue where i should go. and how do you get captured in the north. people keep saying you have to go there to get captured and make a new character to become strong but all i just got send back without nothing happen. how do you exactly start the contest, there isnt any guide in this game and the translation is a bit confusing for me.

Have you have to take over a sect and expanded it?? You need to in order to compete afaik. Also it's a 4x4 tile in the "special" tab of tiles you can put down eventually, if that's what you mean.

I've done the tournament without taking over asect, I think I've always been a member of one doing it though.

yeah i did and im actually the head (progressing on Territory expansion). im still trying to understand how the sect management works. i notice the quest ask to get atlest 30 members so im workin on it

Talk to any member or elder from your sect iirc

I know exactly the problemo here, there's a popup notification you click on once you do the dialogue stuff. IF you're not in sect, then you can start it by simply talking to an npc.

Click the popup on the bottom right and it'll start the event.

there is no option when i talk to npc, and theres also no pop up that said the constest begun or sum idk is it a bug?.
i restart the map 3 times and still got nothing do i wait until it pop up?

Right, I don't think you've progressed the story enough going by your original post again.
Have you talked to the barkeep and then had to run from the assassins and all that jazz?

It seems you are REALLY early in the games story progression, which is honestly usually done over a few "reincarnations" as you unlock inner kung fu like primordial chaos, to make you more powerful. The second big one being of course true method.

Can you check the quest log and tell me the name of the LAST quest you did that was to do with the kung fu contest/main story?

Hey kind of an old post but I'm currently stuck at "participation Qualification" I already have the tournament tile deployed and I'm master of a sect woth over 30 members. Dont' really know what to do

Just talking to random NPC and start the quest. Actually IM stuck further than dat. I did the contest, win, but the story didnt progress again

You have to have another sect in your world besides the one you are part of. After some time they will contact you and give you the token to access the northern island (I finished the game and got all achievementsafter this post lol)
