Quest Champion Relic

I've gotten the Champion relic- quest and I went to the Forbidden City but when I try to talk to the guards nothing happens, the quest isn't continuing. What am I missing?
I placed the city early on, did that mess up the quest?
When trying to find information online every post say "Go North" but... Go North where, on what tile?
Or am I supposed to place the contest-tile? Will that advance the quest?

I've tried to repair adventures through the guards dialogue but the 2 last options aren't translated so I have no idea what they are saying.

Does the quest say go north? If its the part where you won the tournament, everyone congratulated you and then you waited like 7 days for the NPC to spawn and tell you to go north with the relic, then check your map. Waaay north over the ocean you should see the temple

No, it's before that. All the masters of the sects had a meeting and then I got this quest. It tells me to talk to an imperal guard about Yun Tianjin but when I talk to guards in the forbidden city nothing happens, there is no option to ask about that person.

I got that quest before the "Win the championship" quest and I got him to spawn by talking to the tavern owner and there was a chat option to continue it.

I've talked to the tavern owner in every city and village but I don't get that option. =(

Too bad but it's no point in playing when I can't continue the main story. I've already maxed every profession skill and there's nothing much else to do.
I need a second character to keep getting stronger... =/

There's a dialogue when talking to someone to "repair adventure". See if that might do anything.

I've tried that too. Even though like 5 of them were just numbers and didn't make any sense at all. It didn't work. I tried to talk to tavern owners and guards again but... nothing. =(

I think I just reached the same stage of the story campaign as OP, but I'm having different issues. I'm taken to a guy at Forbidden City who reveals who I am then attempts to kill me. Choosing to concede or lowering your vigor enough so his basic attacks knock you out on the first turn progresses the story and as I'm about to supposedly get thrown into prison, screen goes black and I'm told to try and escape, but instead dumped off on a nearby cargo ship.

And then nothing else happens. Quest stage still tells me I need to confront this person, and doing so repeats the dialogue and encounter all over again.

Am I supposed to die in that fight? Defeat him? Or did the quest bug out?

To OP: Have you tried talking to anyone you haven't introduced yourself to yet? I got a dialogue option to confront the person in the quest, both from the tavernkeep at Forbidden City and a random guard in the palace.

I've talked to every single person in that town and all of the other towns. I think my quest is bugged and I'll have to start over again even though I don't want to.
Maybe I placed the town to soon on my map. I did it in the beginning of the game. =/


I think you are supposed to defeat the guy you are facing. I'm not sure because I haven't done it myself (...=/) but I've checked every page I can find around the net about the main questline.

I also had this problem, and Pizzarugi's idea worked. I found someone who I haden't indrouced myself to yet and the option appeared. it was the stable master, so I don't think it even needs to be the tavern guy

For me, i talked to one of the master that join the meeting. Suddenly the wave palm npc appear and fights me.

I got this problem to,he kills me and then am thrown at cargo ship and it says there I need escape but then I die?

I found solution,when fighting Tianjin use smoke bomb and fight will end and story will continue normally.But another problem is that it sad that I got a wave palm skill but its not in my inventory,so now am scrwd without it?

I won the tournament, every1 greet me. But when i check my inventory, theres no champion relic or whatever. Is it normal? Do i need to wait about 7 days without any sign i completed the "Champion" quest?

A belated response here, but:

The Wave Palm "Skill" You got is a mnemonic to use WITH the Wave Palm Move. There should also be a nickname corresponding to it in your nicknames list. At any rate, it only works with Wave Palm so if you don't already have it, you can't use it.
