How good is the translation?

Saw this in the Lunar New Year Sale and it looks interesting. The two videos on the store page are not translated, so I'm curious how good the translation for this is. I've played from games from Chinese devs before that range from great translation to "discount google translate"

Its not perfect. Not as bad as many MTL stuff, you get the gist of whats going on and the area quest objectives are understandable. Some stuff is pretty blatant but still understandable like "Indoor and Outdoor Disciple, instead of Inner and Outer Disciple".

The explanation for Verbal Duels (the non-fist fighting battle system) is all over the place but the system is just mostly spam 1-3 actually useful move types and is easy to cheese anyways.

The game is that addictive sort of fun, its cheap, and its understandable. I'd say for for it and buy it.

Usually coherent. There are some peculiar translation errors, but they tend to stand out more because most of it is competently done.

One that cracks me up a bit is that they somehow translated, "eunuchs," as, "incomplete," so you get things like the groin kick technique saying it has a chance to, "make the target incomplete."

Deconstructing gear gets translated as "decompose," and, the exit menu button is labeled as, "turn off." So, it's more amusing than confusing.

It's mostly readable, especially the tutorials. But some dialogue can be, as Sseth put it, 'absolutely esoteric' which I suspect is where the devs may have used solely machine translation without personally going over the dialogue to make sure that it makes any sense.

Hasn't really hampered my ability to play the game, just understand that a lot of it is 'to the point' translated English rather than fluent conversational English.

To be fair, the entire verbal duels system is several layers of bizarre. Weirdly amusing, but incomprehensibly strange at the same time.

Ie. Found him by being a Guru doctor, to spawn the sage that can fix it, of course he is in my Clan/Sect now.

some stuff makes sense, some stuff is esoteric, some stuff needs its own translations, and some stuff makes no f'ing sense even in context~

so ya know, 'fun' for these kinds of games~

(i've been trying to convince my brother who is a Chinese linguist to join the localization team or at least look into it, cause he's helped translate some of this stuff for me when even i'm just crossed eyed from its 'trying to make sense' and failing badly XD)

How can you steal someone's 'baby' when they are knocked out? Because I seem to remember that it was possible.

It's pretty terrible, but if you can get into a certain mindset, you can tell whats going on. It's like reading Shakespeare. Half of whats being said doesn't make sense, but it paints a blurry picture you can see if you squint hard enough.
