Gaining Sin from attacking bandit camps?

Whenever I try to do the trial for destroying the bandit camps by igniting their shacks I gain sin, is that intentional?

It doesn't seem like something that should happen, maybe they'll fix the system so it doesn't apply to Bandit structures?

I'm pretty sure there is no distinction between building factions. I've gotten sin from destroying my own buildings before.
