Getting killed in sparring matches?

I was trying to upgrade my iron bone skill by training with the teacher in the training room of one of the sects. I selected sparring, held out for two rounds, then she spammed every special move in the book and killed me outright. What the hell, why are the trainers killing me?

Yeah, that's peak wuxia. best way to train iron bone is to climb up the eagles peak, and take damage from the thorns. then drop down and sleep to recover.

just put a bed beside the thorn and sleep in it
