Sons/Daughters and skills
I must not understand the game when it states you can replay as a son or daughter when choosing return to karma. I tested that out and it made me create a completely new character and the son/daughter resulting from an intimacy cannot equip skills. What am i missing or misunderstanding about the return to karma and playing as a son or daughter?

The mechanic works like this: before returning to karma, the game expected a few things from you, namely some new unlocks that you had achieved during the first play through. These unlocks can be used to create a way stronger new character than your current one, inheriting all the "good genes" which is basically the said unlocks. Hence before undergoing the return to karma, you should make sure that you already unlocked the traits that you wanted.

Ok, I read that and still have one question. My first character did not die. After completing the Kungfu tournament i learned of an island up north and I went there. Obviously, I was defeated and imprison. The first character had 16 intimacy, and 1.3 million gold on him when was captured. I was prompted to select Advanced the story or return to the wild. I choose advanced the story and that was when I had to recreate a character that resulted in similiar strength as the first playthrough character.

So do the first character have to die or can he/she be captured and havet he same return to karma effect? Secondly, there was an intimacy that resulted in a son that had 9000 Vigor without any gear. When I gifted the son with legendary gear the Vigor was sitting right around 11k+. I am assuming by what I have read so far, it is impossible for me to select the son that had 9000 vigor to play as? Thank you.

When you chose to advance the story, you get to create a new unit, but that unit will not unlock the new strength, you need to kill that newly created unit, by return to karma, and then the third unit you get to create will inherit the strength properly, and you can use that third unit to go save your first unit that was jailed.

I don't get it. Does that mean you can't play as your son or daughter and have to create a completely new character? I was also curious about this.

You can play as a son or daughter of one of your characters, but only as a completely new character with your old character as the parent.

To do this you need the character you want as your parent to be alive and either a champion or a powerful sect master THEN create a second character with the noble family trait that lets you reincarnate into a strong clan.
You get this trait by being brothers/lovers with two sect masters.
Once the map finishes loading, save your game and immediately return to karma with your second character.
Now as long as your original first character is still alive (even if they're captured) the third character you create should have them as a parent option, if they aren't reload the save and repeat.

Thanks for explaining this

Do both parents have to be alive cos I tried doing this and when i go to make the character his stats look wrong when my son has 2.8k when i try to make this character he only has 192 vigor...?

I too agree with this being dumb. I would not mind playing as a grand child or great gran child. It would add a whole new diplomacy mechanic to the game as you arrange marriages to create the best meridians and martial artists.

Nanomachine had that one sect where they had an academy, and MC was ripping arms of and crushing dantans to ensure he became sect leader. IF someone made a nanomachine game i would consider paying 70bucks if it was true to the source material.

My first kid's stat's were better than my starting stats and the mothers. Waiting for the others to show up, as they are from my 2nd wife who demanded i commit adultery with her or she kill off my family, then her husband was killed by eunuchs...

Did i need to volunteer those details? yes, yes i did because it's crazy and i love it.

You have to choose your wife or husband carefully there, because unlike reality , low stats people will only produce low stats children in this game
