Unable to play - anybody have a fix?

I played a couple hours of the game, liked it, and decided to restart because I wanted to take a different approach. Now, even after uninstalling, deleting local files, and re-downloading the game, the game won't run properly.

The first issue I noticed is that during character creation I can no longer rotate the character like I could the first time. Once I'm into the world, my keyboard no longer works in game—it still works for things like the windows key, f12, and task manager. This means I can't pull up settings, move, etc. My mouse is the only control. I can't use the 0 shortcut the at the very beginning, so the message won't go away. Clicking on my character pulls a blank box where the menu should be and because the keyboard isn't doing anything I have no way of doing anything after that point. I can't walk, close the menu, etc. I'm forced to close the game.

Does anybody know how to fix this, or at least have an Idea? I don't understand how an issue can't be resolved by completely deleting and reinstalling a game. How does it carry over?

Exactly the same thing with a twist : At the start menu, I can ONLY begin the game and doesn't have access to the setting screen.

That was exactly the fix I needed. That somehow even fixed the rotation issue in the character creator.
