Then you can faint again but triggering fight will wake you up and then you can clear it.
As for doing it a proper way, you can craft several gear pieces with Cold resistance (it may take a while to get good stats, so plan to craft at least 20 of each piece).
You can also carry a spring with you. As soon as you notice your character freezing place the spring and take a bath. This will not dispell the debuff but it will not let you freeze.
Make sure that you have cleaned up all the bandits and do not have monkeys/retainers nearby. If you faint any of these may pick you up and attempt to carry you to a cage or a sickbed. Most likely, they will freeze and faint, too ;)
Do not eat fish. It adds Cold stacks. It is chiefly useful to get to 1000 Cold stacks (not all at once) for the Karma unlock.
