Special Effects and Critical hit rate
So I was feeling like my critical hit rate with special effects (i.e. Icy Burst, Disruption, etc.) was rather low. So I did what any statistics nerd did and took a short sample of my crits. I was halfway through the Orb boss when I started writing down hits vs. crits (with a Disruption weapon) and I came up with a small and probably not a big enough sample size, but 188 hits and a measly 15 crits for a crit rate of ~8%. This was with the dwarf with maxed "Improved Critical" (which I believe is 25% right?) So I'm curious if anyone knows if these special effects reduce crit chance or if perhaps difficulty plays a factor. This was on Extreme, but I don't think this gives them critical avoidance. Thanks!

Yeah, the crit rate of weapons with modifiers seems to be lower than weapons without them. Weird, but DA has a couple of weird things like that. Don't know if it's a port issue or it was always like that.

IIRC, the inventory dmg calc of weapons with shocking burst is wrong and is a lot lower than it says. There's a chance crit calc is also messed up somehow by the order bonuses are applied to a weapon.

Also, armor is literally completely useless, it doesn't decrease incoming damage, only makes you dodge attacks that has a lower value than your armor.

As a damage reducer, yes, armor is somewhat useless. However If you are wearing full plate +5 with a +5 shield, you will be getting jibbed significantly less and attacks will actually miss you a decent amount of the time, even on extreme. Archer with a +15 dex ring also has the highest AC in the game and can avoid even more, especially if you invested all your ASI's into dex. Give him STR for his other jewelry slots and hes unstoppable.
