Online Co-op

Would be really nice if they'd add online co-op support, instead of only local/split-screen.

Yes, Parsec/Remote Play Together exists, but it doesn't work well for a lot of people thanks to input lag. Depends heavily on how far away your friend is from you.

Yeah, this is unfortunately going to be a miss from me due to it not having online co-op. I enjoyed this game back in the day playing with friends as a kid when we'd visit eachother.

This game wasn't particularly good when it came out, but the co-op made it much more enjoyable and some of its clunkiness gameplay-wise more bearable.

To re-release an old game like this without putting in the effort to develop networking to make its local co-op online in this day and age is indeed pretty disappointing.

I understand Remote Play exists, but like OP said, it has its issues. Especially with those on slower internet speeds.

If they release Champions of Norrath/RTA they might have online co-op as a possibility as it used the SOE online system, but Parsec and remote play are the best options for this title.

Because they were made with it in mind Were low amount of PS2 games have online support and it required a lot of tinkering back then. So, yeah, no one will dissasemble the code and think how to add online coop to 20 years old game. Stop dreaming about impossible, unless you're super talented programmer who can do that.

Okay, and? They could have implemented it, and should have. There are ways to play online, but I would rather not jump through hoops. Still looking forward to this game though.

One word. Money. No any publisher will give money to implement something that never was in a game from beginning. This you should understand. Heck, most of console ports are barehand minimum. It launches. It supports gamepad or minimal keyboard support. Done. You can dream about and even, later when game releases, write negative review about game not having online coop (that will be childish) bu there is very low chances that game will have online coop support.

So the console versions of this re-release are priced at $30. I assume PC will be the same. I think it's fair to say for that price they should've implemented online co-op, since as far as the rest of the game goes, nothing really has changed. They didn't remaster the graphics or anything.

Pretty much normal price for old game that was ported from old console with some few tweaks.
