Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance

Is this a remaster or anything new added for PC release?
It's pretty expensive at 30€, if this is just a port of a 20 year old game. How does it deserve that price?

It's just re-released port based on PS2/Xbox port.

To me, it's worth the price (when it's on sale) because emulators have trouble with the original releases. GameCube emulator is smoother but slower than PS2 emulator.

They didn't even change the abysmal control scheme. The magic-user character can only have one spell selected at a time and has one button to cast the selected spell. Very poor. I thought they'd at least address that.

But this game is like 20 years old, and they've added nothing extra. There are actual remastered games with better graphics, overhauled controls, bug fixes etc that cost the same or less.

Damn, that's a shame.
Poorly priced as a strait ps 2 port.

i guess it sold enough to persuade them to release DA2.

maybe the price isn't as poor as some cheap complaining. good thing the forum is free, eh buddy.

You are a funny man, If you can't see a problem with an old PS2 game that has no alterations made to it put on Steam at a full price.

Then just move along and don't buy it.

This looks interesting. I typically don't care for hack and slash games but I'll keep this in mind. At a minimum it's really great that it's NOT from beamdog.

it's crazy how much they try to cope with the fact they spent that much on a 20 year old game that added nothing, huh?

I can support a game 20 years later but not by paying more for it than I did 20 years ago. I may support them but I'm not a fool, either.

Fanboy here. I bought this game back in 2001 for the PS2 and played it to death. When I heard about the re-release I snapped it up immediately on PS4 and slightly later on Switch so I could play it on the go. In my opinion, this is how to re-release a beloved classic, unaltered apart from 4k upscale, widescreen support and instant load times. This is truly the best way to play this game. My only complaint is price, they're clearly trying to cash in on nostalgia. If it were me, I'd have released BGDA for £14.99, BGDA II for £14.99 or both for £24.99 with a 20% discount every 6 months or so.
