The new pinned features are indeed new. Whilst Windows 11 lets you pin an exe to the taskbar, thats all you can do. No files, no folders, no popup menus.
With Start11 you can pin a document or a folder or even make a popup menu from a folder. One of those is for Steam installed apps to even make it easier for you.
