I recommend what i use,
I recommend you go on Ebay and buy yourself a pair of Nintendo Wii Remotes/Nunchucks and by yourself the Mayflash Dolphin Bar from Amazon, i sue this all the time when it comes to playing my Nintendo WII games via Dolphin Emulator on PC,
I'll link you to the Dolphin Bar here
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mayflash-W010-Dolphin-Bar-Wireless/dp/B00HZWEB74/ref=sr_1_1?crid=201WWDRGWIB41&keywords=dolphin+bar+pc&qid=1651678473&sprefix=dolphin+bar%2Caps%2C77&sr=8-1
This dolphin bar has built-in Bluetooth as well as works with all the features of the Wii remotes like motion controls etc, I use it to play House of the Dead 1,2,3 and Overkill with Dolphin Emulator,
I've still to buy House of the Dead Remake but am waiting for a sale, as i understand this game only takes around 40 minutes ust like the original so spending more than £20 on it is kind of a bit of a much, i'll consider paying £15 if it goes on sale within the next month but if not then it'll be bargain bin prices for me,
I need them to add more modes and content to make this justify the cost maybe am crazy but am more of a cautious buyer when it comes to PC games these days.
If I wanted to buy, say a Sega Saturn Virtua Gun, I can get one around £35-60 which would be an alright purchase. But i'd feel it be a waste of good tech if I gut it for it's shell and I can't seem to find broken Virtua Gun or the plastic shells sold separately.
It be cheaper to buy a 3D printer, I dunno if 3D printers can print accurate replicas of old light guns.
Yeah the Dolphin Bar has 4 modes, mode 2 is Nintendo Wii mode where it emulates a real Nintendo Wii remote, and am sure its mode 4 is Mouse mode so the Wii remote will operate as a mouse, so any game or program on PC will work with it, just select which mode suits you for the task, I would suggest the dolphin bar if you plan to play games via emulation as well as PC titles and mame arcade games etc
It's not a product (yet) it's basically a guide to building your own + the firmware which is free - for the GUI config tool which I recommend, you do purchase a lifetime license at US$15 to use.
Best place to learn more about it might be the discord: https://discord.gg/srVempME
Anyway, it's really only if you enjoy the DIY process - if you're looking for an off the shelf solution I'd say Sinden is the most well-known game in town! Best of luck!
I know light guns don't normally work on modern LCD screens but why Sinden and AimTrak gotta be so expensive? Surely got to be a cheaper solution to have light guns for modern monitors.
thanks for mentioning these two brands of light gun , i wouldnt even know they existed
but they are all out of stock , do you have any light gun brand you know of ?
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ , i am gonna relive that arcade memory i havnt really got a chance to to throw money at !
But yeah, well out of my price range.
mjhcsta suggested buying a Dolphin Bar, the kind of bar the Wii and Wii U uses but for PC and allows you to use Wii and Wii U controllers on your PC. Then you could probably buy a plastic gun shell to hold your wiimote or 3D print one. The Dolphin Bar is £26.99 and can probably get one for more or less on eBay so I have that option if need be.
These are the only light gun methods I know of. I would be nice to simply buy a Sega Saturn Virtua Gun, a DE-9 to USB adapter and get on with it.
