Best places to farm flint, flint slabs, and wood efficiently
1.It feels like rocky beaches are the best place to get flint and flint slabs, right? But after searching for ages, I only managed to find one flint slab... Isn't the drop rate ridiculously low?

2.For wood, you need to chop down big trees, and you only get 7 pieces on the last chop, right? It feels really inefficient to use it as fuel. Later on, so many things need to be burned. Any suggestions?

Are there any websites that organize which resources are easier to gather on specific maps?

I like the Rocks near the Beach as a place to get flint. Yes, the drop rate of slabs is low, but you don't need very many before you can get into copper (save slabs to make axes, and use flit axes only for crafting recipes that require sharp axes, and for cutting full-grown trees).

Do not cut trees for wood. Instead, use an axe (a stone axe is fine) on the Explore card in any forested area. It takes 15 minutes and gives you 1 wood and 2 sticks.

1.To train the Masonry skill, do you need flint slabs, or are there other ways to train it?

2.Are you saying that collecting wood by chopping trees is not recommended? Is it advised to always use the search method and gamble for wood one by one?

Is it the same in the later stages?

So, in the later stages, do you still rely on wood for fuel?

If you mean the Knapping skill, used to make flint tools: Do _not_ use the flint slabs (large pieces) just to train Knapping, save them to make axes. At first, if your character starts with 0 Knapping, you will need to smash small pieces of flint with a stone to get enough skill to unlock the Flint Knife blueprint (you will need to break about 5 of them to get the knife blueprint). Once you have that, make any small flint pieces you find into Flint Knives (you will need to make about 7 knives to unlock the Flint Axe blueprint). Make sure to leave enough time between each craft so that you get the full Xp value of each craft.

Yes.

No. Like I said, you can get wood and sticks by using an axe on the Explore card in any forested location (Jungle Edge, Jungle, Wetlands, etc). Similarly, you can use a shovel on the Explore card in grassy locations to get dirt.

Most equipment that requires fuel can burn any kind of woody material: wood, sticks, palm fronds, dry leaves, etc. Use whatever you have the most of or can most easily get.

And as soon as you have a sharp axe, you can chop wood at your location card for 2 wood and 4(?) sticks, which is so efficient that you might just never let your fire burn out again

There are also flint/flint slabs in the uh... western highlands i believe

I tend to get the most flint and slabs in the eastern highlands, the yellow grass place

Lacking leaves, wood, and branches, how can this problem be solved?
I hope to permanently have a campfire on the western grasslands.

There isn't an easy source of wood in the grasslands, so you'd have to chop wood in the jungle and bring it there. You could probably take a travois and do one big trip every few days.

If you're planning to live in the grasslands, I would probably advise against a permanent fire. Just light one for cooking when needed. You could also build a path on the grasslands and jungle so that it takes very little time to travel between them.
