Best place to catch goats?
I've set up a few traps in the W highland, but they've performed blandly. Is there a better place?

Western Highland and Eastern Highland are good for trapping goats since there aren't predators (Monitor Lizard) there.

I think you're missing good baits or using the wrong baits.

1. Goat is an herbivore.
2. There is a timer when you place bait into the trap. The longer it takes, the better chance to catch animals.

So try using Rice Straw, Rice Grain, Bird Feed, or Palm Bush Seed, since these are never spoiled.

Trapping is dependent on your trapping skill and the bait try rice straws on the Trapping pit, also the population of goats there.

Grasslands and Eastern High land would work also but you might get a mixed bag.

now that you've got me thinking... it may be a crazy thought, but i wonder if goat-feed would work.

Gonna try two straw and 1 feed and see what happens.

Ricestraw caught goats in 1 and 2 days. goat feed has not caught a goat in about a week. Guess that answers the question!

Thanks peeps. Now that I've got goats, I should be able to get gramps his butter oysters and finally cure him of his bedriddenness.

Technically, Goat Feed should work too, I forgot to mention it. Just don't take out the bait from the trap since it will reset the timer.

Based on my experience, the goat is indeed hard to catch, so probably you shouldn't attack and kill them while exploring, which lowers their population and makes it harder to trap.

People suggested before that you better find them better in the highlands where there are no predators
