Well
Is well worth it?
I built it in the Wetlands, but... it fills so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slow, feels like it has lesser capacity than cistern, and takes the same amount of resources. So, is it something that I should build, or was it shoot on le foot?

Honestly, feel like the puddle in the dark cave is just better than well... may be wrong, but it def how it feels like.

See Well always as addition to (double) cave. There are various strategies to get through dry season (enough water storage+being wet with saltwater; alembic; coconuts+banana trees; well, and various others), and well is the most time-efficient of them. Imo best for if you have many animals or want to plant a bit during dry season.

Yes, I've found the well to be a waste of time. My standard build is cistern and 2 x reservoirs before first dry season. Shouldn't need the alembic if you're being water conscious and doing proper temperature management.

I make sure to bring a full jerry can (or some clay jugs) of saltwater back to base for water use for anything that doesn't require fresh water. This is for washing (with clay jar for portion control), yam soaking, cooler filling and even mud making.

Actually I just found out you can grind dirt from the dry puddles (or shovel in grasslands) with a stone to make fine dirt (15 minutes) which you can add salt water to (3 minutes), to make clay (18 minutes total). This is even more time efficient than making clay from mud (30 minutes).

Now that I think about it, the well is probably only useful for the second year if you want to continue farming during the second dry season or have animals.

Completely agre with a previous post. If you plan on having a long play(200+ days). It is always good to have a renewable water source and not be dependent on rains.
Also if you are playing with Extreme Draught for example, when the rain is rare, it is essential to have a well.

Actually the cistern needs more ingredient than well, it's takes 40x Stone + 24x Mortar (well only need 20x Stone + 12x Mortar) 12 Quicklime + 3 Clay Vase and 2hrs per step (well only need 1.5hrs per step) to make.
