Report a translation problem
The reasoning is that there is just to much vegetables in it so a true carnivore cannot stomach it.
Also.
It has to much Meat in it for Vegetarians as well so it can only be safely eaten if you do not have any of these 2 perks.
Its a pretty good food otherwise, fish can be caught en masse in fish traps and yams easily grown on crop plots.
As for why does the game does not clearly say this kind of things it is to encurage experimentation and a sense of wonder when you discover this kind of things. I rememeber having lots of fun trying out different foods when I first played the Mermaid trying to guess up front what will she be able to stomach what not.
