Seasons?
What's it with the seasons?
I managed to get through the dry season and thought from there on out it would just repeat wet - dry- wet - dry every 30 days.
But so far I had 40 days of pretty much mixed weather, not that I'd be complaining.

From my experience, once you get pass the Dry season, it will be always Mild season after that. Mild - Wet - Dry and then Mild forever.

There are 3 seasons, not 2. For the first cycle, they are 30 days each; after that, the lengths become more erratic, so it's harder to predict when the season will change. But if it has been 40 days since the end of the dry season, you should be hitting rainy season again soon.

I don't believe it is true since I've survived for 300-400 days several times and the only dry or wet season I got happened before the day 100. More specifically day 30 wet season, day 60 dry season, day 90-98 end of the dry season, and that's all.
Personally I would love to have changing seasons with a random of 30-40 days in between.

Hi everyone,

We are experiencing some issues with weather after the first cycle. We'll look into it, hopefully we can have it fixed in the near future.

Seems as it really is somewhat erratic.
I'm now at day 157 and my water supplies slowly start to diminish, really should have built that second cistern in the grasslands after all lol.
Thankfully this game has me sceptic at all times, so I stocked up with enough emergency options for just such a case.
Probably should also finally explore the caves too I guess.

Great compliment for the devs, seldom that a game draws me in to such a degree.

I'm at ~800 on one save, and ~320 on another, and they both have detectable dry and wet seasons. They're much more erratic in terms of duration than they are early on, and there can be extended stretches of mixed weather. So I dunno, maybe I got lucky, or you got unlucky, or something....

My best run so far was 221 days and it was loneliness that took me out. How did you stave that off? Just carrying around the macaque friend everywhere and chatting up Weston? I am doing those things religiously but still keep losing sanity due mostly to loneliness. :(

Holy guacamole! I am heartened to hear that you can survive so long! I hit a loneliness wall at 221 days and restarted. But at day 120, my loneliness is again taking a nose dive. Any tips for staying sane?

On that 221 run I thought I had everything under control and mastered. I was comfortable, well fed, highly trained in combat... But couldn't deal with the isolation for that long. :(

Usually works for me, but you can always pick up a custom trait if you don't want to bother with it too much(I usually do that, since I'm not very interested in this particular mechanics of the game). You still will have to speak to Weston or visit Macaque friends, but the game will tone it down to once/twice a day, and if you put Macaque friend ouside of house, you don't even have to speak to Weston in days, since you'll get a small lonliness boost each time you get out of the house.
Also when you defeat both of the inner demons, loosing sanity is not that bad and you can always raise it up quickly.

So it can be like 20 days or something? Would've been cool. The 30-40 days of the dry season after the day 60 are challenging and fun.

Hi all!
We pushed a fix today that should stop this problem from happening any more.
Seasons will now cycle properly. :)

I have Weston and a macaque friend, and maximum comfort in my hut. I keep the loneliness stat pinned and talk to Weston and pet the macaque whenever my loneliness is perceptibly above 0. (This is usually only when I spend the whole day away from home, or need to sleep over in a cave or something.)
