If you are trying to protect yourself from bees, you need to make a bee suit and smoke the hive with a torch before harvesting, bug repellant only works on the invisible bug population of mosqitoes.

In case this is what OP might be asking, I think eating the ground snake grass does not do anything for your bug protection

Both give bug protection and IRL lemongrass oil strongly attracts bees instead of repelling them, you can use it to draw wild swarms into empty skeps it is so nice (because they like it and other bugs don't which is their main concern)
