Impossible Mode?

Hi, is the Impossible Mode hard?
I read that i can only save once in this mode and if i die i lose all my progress and have to start from all the beginning is that true?

What is the difference between Hard and Impossible?

I've started my first play through on Impossible mode. The trick is to exit to menu and then reload before you die I think.

You can save the game as many times as you want to, there is no save locking in impossible mode. If you die however, your save file deletes itself and you have to start from the beginning.

This is daunting news to me. I was thinking of starting my impossible run next week and I imagined it would be similar to the original's.

I made it to the part where you have to recalibrate the defence guns so they can shoot the asteroid in the asteroid field. An asteroid got me which was an instant kill. Its the instant kills that you have to be careful of as it doesn't delete your save but instantly converts it to a Hard game mode save.

Aside from the Asteroid part, the few large moving objects crushing you, and two necromorphs I don't think there are too many instant kills in the game. Just be extra careful round the asteroid defence gun trench and stay back from those wall mounted necromorphy that you can only kill by shooting the tentacles.
