You just didn't notice until the subject matter was something that makes you rage post.
I put out an entire list of games and series that have been doing that for decades. His response?

I wouldn't bother. Those with that mindset often view the world through a glass house which happens to correlate living with parents. Chances are, person never had to live on their own yet.
I mean, the main difference between any games in the past and this one is that they didn't sacrifice the story or add pointless slop in-between lines. Most of the times it was subtle,well integrated or made as satire. Now it's all about non-issues, preachy and as subtle as a derailed train.

And it's there due to political influence, not "progressivism" or "new ideas." It's culture war rage bait. Creating "racism" and "bigotry" out of nothing, where there was none. And you brainiacs vote according to that brainwashing ideology too. It was working up until a month ago. Every single western nation was led by a radical left moron. It's absolutely brainless to defend this when it's being done to every franchise they can corrupt and ruin with it.
But yeah, like I said, keep going, leave no room for common ground, don't acknowledge any of it is real, really steel people's resolve in defiance to woke idiocy until all you get is ridicule and woke flops. Maybe then the entertainment industry will give it up.
Except that's how it's always been? You're now noticing them because you're getting older. I know I didn't notice any of the political nuances when I was younger. The whole plot of MGS went over my head about war being bad as a kid.
The ones that actually sacrifice plot for a strong political message often fail. The new Dragon Age and Concord are the only ones in recent memory that failed due to that. Many other games failed for variety of other reasons, but the gamers are the ones that deemed they failed.
Many publishers show sales numbers of so-called "failed woke games" by the very loud minority and makes them froth at the mouth for the games actually doing good. Best example of that would be the Mortal Kombat series which has been selling well ever since MK9. MK10, MK11 and MK12(MK1 is a dumb name) all did well despite being called "hurhur it woke it failed hurhur".
What is a "minority" to you. We're now on the global stage with gaming since the internet allowed pretty much anyone to play them.
Probably want to tone down the Eric Cartmen rhetoric since the "minority" argument no longer works with World wide releases.

There's literally no old games that sacrificed the plot for that either. Unless you can tell me what political message a game like Overlord delivers? And that's exactly the point. That's why the game industry is going down in flames. AT least the big corpos. indie's in full swing stacking the cash. Of course, that's not the only reason,but it's an important one.
And obviously, because it's literally been statistically proven woke games fail. There's rare cases of course, exceptions to the rule,like bg3 for example,but otherwise it's a 100% factual.

That's not failing. Your own example of "sacrificing gameplay for forced narrative" is pure opinion. Fact that the gaming industry is grossing more than anything else in entertainment disproves your statement of "game industry going down in flames" by miles. You not liking something, much less accepting it, doesn't equate to failing. Nor does it show the gaming industry failing. The fact it's thriving more than any other entertainment is why I think you guys are screaming. You can't handle this is what people like to buy.
Or it means the rest of the entertainment industry has gone to sht even worse. And it has. There's a huge list of woke flops and it just keeps getting bigger.
Nobody wants to be lectured or reminded about modern day political issues. Or sit through some cringe fest race baiting race swapping culture war fuel thing. Most are just done with it by now and it's surprising people even still try to defend woke media.
