Game's stuck on startup

I've updated drivers, I checked my hardware, I even put it on SSD, but this game gets locked on 'building shaders' when i start the game up and never advances passed that. On top of that steam says it can't process a refund, so I'm stuck with this. Is there any fix?

How long have you let it sit on building shaders? because that can take a minute, but it definitely shouldn't take that long, reinstall and wait for a bit.

First time roughly ten minutes. I let it sit a bit longer after. Reinstalling didn't seem to help either, luckily the refund managed to go through.

That's good, sucks that you weren't able to play though, it's a very good game, but maybe you were spared of a rocky experience considering the game still has linger optimization issues that have yet to be fixed, and rumor has it that the game has already completed its life cycle and has been abandoned, but they're just rumors for now, only time will tell.

Did you up date your graphics driver recently?
When mine did it, I had to manually clear out the shader caches and hen it worked after rebuilding it.

First time i tried it did tell me to update, and I did afterwards. It didn't seem to make a change.

And that is pretty sad. Maybe I'll try again sometime, I really did want to play. But my 54 dollars is pretty big to pay for a game that doesn't work.

Don't know if it is the exact same issue but it seems similar if not the same.

The issues I keep having is that the game stays on that initial loading screen forever when starting up. It is the screen that is shown when / after building the shader cache. E.G the black screen with the spinning circle with a symbol in that is in the bottom right corner.

Found a simple solution to it tho, it was pressing the Escape (ESC) button when on that screen. Got to do it every time I start up the game but doing so lets me get past that loading screen.

A really weird issue, my guess is that there is a dialog or message hidden behind the loading screen.
