How bad is the censorship/wokeness?

If its not be gutted and cheapened remaster I have no problem buying it again.

If not then I will wait until the community mods it all back in.

I noticed changed posters around the Ishimura which replaced the white males with people of color and those guys that arrive with you but die within the very few minutes.

Kendra and Nicole look very weird compared to their original look. Apparently intentionally making them ''ugly'' or older for SJW reasons.

Overall voice acting is meh tier except Isaac's and Nicole. ( sense of urgency or caution and fear is gone especially from Hammond )


Noticing from the new trailer that just recently dropped i can smell the heavy scripted events and set pieces from far away.


Animations are in some cases pretty janky or in Isaac's case almost entirely wrong. ( compared to the original's move set. )

Speaking of Isaac... his face is now entirely DIFFERENT character and looks nothing like the original face.

It is indeed shame. I was excited about the remake mostly because of the enviroment storytelling being better because higher tech in gaming compared to back then but this... is even worse than i imagined.

Its very odd rather than just update the program to work better on modern hardware, and repack the game for faster loading, mbaye tweak the textures they spent all this time and effort on much of nothing, almost like government lul.

I swear this is a new trend or something, look up Gundam witch of mercury viewers where shocked when it switched from yuri SOL rom drama to war and death......

I suggest giving it a read so you can understand what has been altered from the original game.

It also has links to other threads which have now been locked after being invaded and targeted by people who did not want this information shared, Those same people entered those other threads and ranted and raved until the threads discussing the changes were locked. Their goal is to silence people pointing out the changes, because they don't want those changes to be easily found and fall under public scrutiny.

The short answer is, right now it looks like the changes are many, and many of them are entirely to push modern politics. It makes me worry significantly about the very negative effects they will have on the Dead Space Remake.

The new developers should respect the original storyline of Dead Space, and not be changing it so drastically in obvious ways, just to tick political check-boxes.

Yep, us "BIPOC" are the most-swappable with each other as if our own cultures and identities don't matter. Just mix-n-match your skin color ratios until you hit APPROVED! from EA's marketing. Apparently some folks think that minorities are not able to connect or identify with a character in media unless they look like us... wow, sounds kinda racist like that, huh?

Go back and watch 70s and 80s tokenizing cartoons, if you can. That's how long it's been going on, and it really hasn't gotten any better. The idea that humanity will become more integrated vs xenophobic once space travel and different conditions start to mutate us into different species is a pretty funny one.

But the worst part is how they'll use THAT as defense for the changes otherwise as zenstrata and others have shown.

Honestly why buy a remaster when you can use a 4090 to upscale the game and play it looking like a remaster.

Dark souls PTDE is a bit of a pita to run, same for bioshock or Dead space 1, I mean it can kinda run, however if you are offered the game with an overhauled engine, I think it be worth 30-40 at launch, or better yet have the multiplayer for 20-30 and the single player bit for 10$ lul. I mean the prices are going to come down, but they never update the engine right, its almost always haphazard(like mass effect, ruin the ability to easily mod it with extra steps) When you can more simply hardlock the online pvp crap and leave the rest easy to change...

TL:DR if they do it respectfully its worth it, if not its worth at best 10$

Very risky choice toning down the vibe and forcing identity politics for a new audience. Frictional already tried that with Amnesia Rebirth and was panned for it.

Dead Space already has a built in customer base who wont like it and the new progressive audience they are after aren't interested.

It's quite a bit more than that. If what we have already is anything to go by then the whole vibe has been changed. In something like this it should be orders of magnitude more horrific than the OG, the opposite seems to be the case and it's been toned down.

The changes are significantly more than just posters being changed in the Remake. You know that Cosmic. If you really want to be fair you should list all the changes, not just the ones you feel will seem trivial to others.
