ah okay. I don't see why they wouldn't at least attempt to maybe make colors like the hair and eyes reflect classic Isaac a bit more but thank you for the answer.
**He is absolutely correct. This is the sort of thing that a change like this does. But these new Remake developers are too concerned about checking politically-correct tick-boxes, instead of focusing on preserving the original story from the first Dead Space game.
The changes to the characters in dead space are politically motivated, I go over a lot of that in this other post. I suggest you go through it, if you are curious where these changes came from, and how they will adversely affect the Dead Space story in negative ways.

Of special note is my post on page 5 of that thread, which someone kindly marked with a jester icon, so it should be easy to find. I talk about why the characters were created the way they were in the first Dead Space. it was for very important story and atmosphere reasons.
Here is a quick link to that post if you are curious.

I would just copy and paste my entire post on why character appearance matters, but it would just clog the thread and is lengthy. Check out page 6 of the thread I linked for more information.
"Real Isaac" lol. What we got in the remake is about as close to the "Real Isaac" you're ever gonna get, given the remake Isaac was a direct scan of the voice actor who played Isaac Clarke in 2 and 3, and who also voiced him in the remake. Same with Nicole.
The original Isaac Clarke's face didn't look like anyone you could just randomly bump into out in the street. He looked cool, but not real. Because it's a completely 100% face scan of the voice actor, he does look now like someone you could just randomly bump into in the street, because the actor IS someone you could actually randomly bump into in the street.
I was originally against it, back before this game came out, but in the 9 MONTHS since this thread has been dead I've beaten the game multiple times and have to say, I prefer their remake look now.
By the real Isaac they obviously mean the iconic look we all know and recognise. Why does it have to be someone you could bump into in the street? Why doesn't every character look like their VA in every game? Because it wouldn't fit, just like the youth pastor look doesn't fit Isaac Clarke.
If they really wanted to do the face scan thing, how much extra dev time would it have taken to just age him up a bit or at least change his hair colour to the salt and pepper-look we'd recognise, give him some stubble.. I reckon it wouldn't take as much time as it took them to age UP Nicole, they really did the actress dirty, she was 39, but the model doesn't look a day under 60, it honestly does feel like we're saving our mum or grandmother.
Don't kid yourself. The only thing iconic about Isaac Clark is his suit. We don't see his face all that much in the OG and the only entry in which we get to see his original face a lot is the third and least appreciated one. The VA has some kind of nerd face and that's perfectly fine in order to fit who the character is supposed to be.
Issac is 47, and was so in the og trilogy also. I think he looks about right, and so does Nicole, who given her position etc imo always looked on the young side to me. Neither are an issue imo.
His look is the same in DS1, DS2 and DS3, his face is objectively iconic, to the point where me and others asked "who the ♥♥♥♥ is this??" upon seeing the remake face, because that is not Isaac Clarke
