Dead Space Remake or Dead Space 2?

I have both of these games on my wishlist, dead space 2 is 4,99$ and dead space remake is 23,99$. Both of the games are around the same length I think, right? Which one is better?

I don't own the remake yet but look at the review score. Over 90% of players recommend it. So it's a really great game.
I played every other Dead Space game plus every DLC. So below are my subjective opinions.

Dead space 1
A fantastic horror, sci-fi horror game. One of the best. Love it.

Dead space 2
A very good game. In my opinion as good as the first one and the main protagonist talks which is good imo. In the first game, Isaac was mute.

Dead space 3
The worst of the 3. A lot of action almost no horror. It's like Gears of War Dead Space.
The game itself is not that terrible but it's not scary and it's not a horror game. It's an action game.

As for the length of the games. Well, it's quite subjective. Some people play slower. Some people rush games.

How long to beat is a nice place to check the avg. play time.

Dead space 2 is shorter than Dead space 1 OG by around 20%,I think remake is slightly longer than OG DS1 if you go for optional objectives.

If you want to play Dead space 2 from 2011 make sure to cap the fps to around 60-150 and you might need to do some tweaking if you have a 10 core or above CPU.

As those games can have problems even launching with 10+CPU cores.

Dead space 3 is much longer even more so if you do optional maps usually for"treasure" but that game is 98% action and 2% scare even tought it has most weapon options and difficulty modes.
Game also has weakly implements gears of war cover system and human enemies.
It is coop focused basically like RE6.

Ammo manegement is extremely dumped down likely for the"wider audience" game has crap loads of pay to win convinience DLCs but you need none of them.

The Awekened DS3 DLC(only one that adds content) is very good horror wise far above main campaign DS3 but it is like 90 minutes long.......

If you are interested in the story then buy the remake first, then Dead Space 2, as the second game continues the story.

They did a really great job with the remake, new enemies, dialog, missions, areas, modern graphics. I really hope we'll also get a DS 2 remake in a few years.

Even if Dead Space remake is a better place to start story wise, the second game has a recap movie if you want to understand what happened. Won't save you from spoilers though.

If you are strapped for cash go for 2, or OG.

dont forget the Mouselook patch on the pcgamingwiki for dead space 2. and honestly i really didnt like the "weapon options" for dead space 3 all that much. For OP, if you want ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ your pants horror, DS Remake. DS Classic will always be cheaper and easier to pick up in the future, same as DS2. DS2 is a more even mix. Isaac changes professions and goes from Engineer to Exterminator. its a blast. probably still my favorite, but only slightly.
