Possible fix to reduce stuttering and traversal stutter.
Turn on Nvidia Resizable Bar. (Rebar.)

When I first played Dead Space Remake, my PC did not support Rebar.

When I replayed Dead Space on my new PC, it was much better. ... There were still a few stutters, but it was about 80% improved over what it was when I played it twice before.

It did not register to me at the time that I had enabled Rebar and it might be the reason for much better performance.

After all Rebar is free if your PC supports it.

Also, if your Motherboard did not support originally Rebar initially, it might now. Motherboard manufacturers have been working on getting it working on motherboard generation prior to what Rebar launched with.

I think there is also a way to force Rebar to work with Nvidia Profile Inspector.

I have that on my all AMD system, they call it SAM though smart access memory. Still stuttered all over the place :steamsad:

Thanks for reporting back.

does stuttering is the only issue in the game?
Naholix Nov 22, 2023 @ 11:33am
the reason why you have less stutter is because you played the game one time before.

Forgot to mention also that it was with Rebar and a fast 7300 MB/s NvME.

I tried Dead Space with NvME before turning on ReBar and it was just as bad.

I was able to drastically reduce stuttering by locking the game to 60 fps (only stuttered when entering new areas), but then for whatever reason the fps got unlocked and can't seem to lock them up again, oh well

Have you tried Nvidia Control Panel for that?

Manage 3D settings.
Program Settings > and find Dead Space.
Max frame Rate, and set it to 60fps.

Do you know what's the AMD equivalent of that? Lol

Isn't Radeon chill just an option to reduce heat and power consumption at the cost of performance?

It limits frames too, there's min/max it'll hold your FPS at depending on if you're doing anything in the game it automatically adjusts but you can set it to something like 60-65 and it'll keep your framerate from being all over the place. It's a lil bit temperamental though sometimes you have to tweak the numbers to get it to run smooth, for instance for me it didn't like it when I just set it at 60-60 locked in like that.

Resizable Bar enabled here. First time playing. It has stutters. Pretty sad the game's been out for a year and it still has this issue.

Denuvo is the major reason for the stutter. When Denuvo is added to more demanding games, it kills performance, so it's better to stay away from games that add Denuvo. The games will tell you if they have Denuvo on their Steam page.

Interesting point cause most of the time when it was causing issues the cracked version would be the proof the game runs better without it and this still isn't. So afaik there's nothing to compare it to. Like on RE Village that had the 2 layers of drm and ran bad, it was denied across the board that the DRM was causing it until the cracked version appeared and proved it.

On a CPU intense game like this maybe it is who knows.

I wouldn't count on EA to remove it though like Capcom did with Village. EA's still got always online DRM on Mass Effect Legendary Edition and that's old old.
