Maybe they shouldn't release broken ports and then abandon ship. That aside, player numbers will always be low for single player games and steam charts only represent a fraction on players.
Dead Space isn't CSGO. You play it for a week, you stop playing. You come back occasionally to play it again.
While Dead Space remake has zero.
Go check every community hub from every RE from RE4 (2004) until RE4 (2023) and you'll see at least 300 players were playing every day.
It's a horror game as well like Dead Space. :)
Dead Space might have small replayability while RE got lots of it, it might be the reason why RE is the most popular survival horror game.
Genre's have certain aspects that are important, and others that are worthless. For example, story is a major thing in singleplayer RPG games, but absolutely worthless in PVP games. If you want to compare games, do it with respect to things significant to the horror shooter genre. Not how many players it retains. That's just the icing on the cake, not a defining factor in which cake is better. Not to mention, it's that good ol' 'argumentum ad populum' fallacy. Or in other words: Candy Crush is one of the most successful games in existence. What the majority play isn't exactly an argument.
Despite being similar games, DeadSpace and Resident Evil are incomparable in my mind. I personally prefer the RE4 Remake as a remake, but I can't decide between either game irregardless of that fact. I prefer the story of RE4 and do find it funner to replay. But I prefer the gameplay of DeadSpace in general with how innovative and satisfying it is to carve up enemies.
Just take a look at hogwarts legacy.
What i mean is, Dead Space needs more players, more buyers so EA will consider is as a success so they will continue the remake to the point Dead Space 4 are gonna be made.
But like i said, this game needs to sell more so EA will take the game as successful if not, no more dead space at all later
There have been 399 players (Steamcharts) in 24 hours. Now there are around 150-200.
Since Steamcharts shows only a fraction of the player base, there might be 1k-2k or even more.
Also, it's singleplayer.
Also, worry not; They've confirmed they're going to work on DS2R as well as DS3R. I REALLY hope they just tear down DS3 from the top down and make a better story from scratch. DS2 is basically perfect, but DS3, outside of its awesome crafting system, DESPERATELY needs the remake treatment more than anything, not least for its bad writing. :<
