4 months and still no patch for inexcusable stutters!
Thanks ea, why remake a game just to immediately abandon it like it's a flaming bag of dogpoop?
It's a corridor shooter. Yet it stutters as bad if not worse than a huge open world game. :steamfacepalm:

Yup. The shills really did a great job at downplaying how awful it actually runs. I should have refunded when I had the chance. That's what my dumb ass gets for buying from EA. I don't know why I even expected them to fix it.

I didn't buy Jedi survivor for that exact reason, fool me once and all that jazz.

yep, they got me for 3 games that stutter pretty bad, hogwarts, jedi survivor, dead space. Scammers!!

That's kinda odd. Y'all running on SSD's or M.2 NVME/SSDs? It runs on the Frostbite engine (like Anthem, BF4, BF5, BF1, BF2042) and the demo for this game had no stuttering for me.

I can't remember how much RAM and VRAM I was using though... but I ran everything cranked up to the max @ 2560x1440. I have 32GB RAM/12GB VRAM. Most games from mid 2022 until now are using 10-10.5+GB VRAM and many of these new 2023 games are pushing my rig into the 17GB RAM usage levels. Do you gents use HWiNFO64 to monitor your system? No offense, but typical Steam forum posts are "Game sucks, doesn't run good." No specs listed, nothing. Just 'game bad." For all we know, you're playing on a Core 2 Quad Q6600 and an HD7870 with 8GB DDR2 800.

I mean, if EVERYONE is getting stutters, I'm not saying it's a "you" issue, but just asking.

It's typically Unreal Engine 4 games that are notorious for stuttering. But Frostbite? Typically smooth as butter... and it was smooth for me in the demo. But, then again, that was just the demo. I don't have the game.

PS I don't have the best rig, either. I do have awesome RAM (2x16GB DDR4 3600 C16 dual rank RAM that I've tuned primary and subtimings out of heavily, and, again, it's dual rank, so I'm getting killer bandwidth). I have a nice CPU: Ryzen 9 5900x. Should have went with the 5800x3D, though, as the 5900x has been far more overkill than I ever imagined thread-wise. Most games average 8-12% CPU usage lol... with BF2042 in a 128 player server averaging 40-45% tops. More like 40% CPU usage. It is tuned per core using Curve Optimizer, too.. but doesn't compare to 5800x3D performance or any Zen 4/Intel 13th Gen CPU. And my GPU is just a 6700XT 12GB. I thought 12GB VRAM at 1440p would last for a decent while. I was wrong. 2023 games all push me to 11+GB VRAM usage. Could be partly to do with using Smart Access Memory, but still.. this card's gonna be obsolete before 2024.

So, I don't have the best of hardware, but it is enough in the right places.

Oh, and I run my fav games on SSD's and my more favorite games on my M.2 NVME 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus.

Ya gotta pay to play these days. We're going through a new phase in gaming. While it sucks for me because I've got what I thought was killer hardware one year ago... it's all about to be crap compared to the next gen hardware coming out and the games coming out.

Ok, your specs are far below mine, so you probably just didn't notice the stutter.

Listing specs is trivial as it affects all configuratioins, but sure here goes: 5900x, 4090, samsung 980 nvme.

4090 12900K 32 GB of DDR5 on Samsung EVO 870 SSD. Send footage with a frametime graph overlay and we will help you identify what stutter is. We’ve been doing this for 3 months now, but if you think you have the one PC that’s not affected…. Let’s see it.

I just played the demo, I can't play it anymore. I hit that 1.5 hour limit that was on it. I'm just saying, I noticed no issues. Have you tried the demo, by chance? Get the same stutters in it as in the actual game?

I'm not here to BS anyone... FFS, I've been on Steam for 18 years. I made it clear that I wasn't saying I had top notch hardware, but yeah, it does tend to help when people list their specs. I don't come to these forums all the time, but in EVERY forum, there's always people saying a game runs bad on their rig but never list specs. I always imagine them playing on a laptop with Intel UHD630 integrated graphics or something.

I did have the app that allowed me to erase Steam achievements so that I could run that one Resident Evil demo over and over lol.. you know what I'm talking about? I'll prove I had zero stuttering if it's that big of a deal, but again, it'll be on the demo version, not the retail version.

Remind me of that app that let's ya mess with your achievements.. or YOU try the demo and see if it plays differently than the retail version and let me know.

Well you can't just assume, some people are actually intelligible and know their hardware isn't to blame.
My specs are above.

On that point, I have NOT tried the demo. So I can’t comment further. I’ll give it a shot sometime this week

Sure, I getcha. I also can't assume you don't have wacky RAM timings causing your low fps hitches, either. Timings that don't make sense or add up... like the stock profiles typically use. But I ain't getting into all that. Everyone's gotta 4090. Reckon that's all that matters.

Meanwhile, my super tweaked rig with a measly 6700XT 12GB played the demo smooth AF. There's levels of competence... not that PC building isn't like playing with Legos these days, anyways. Just throw money at Amazon/Newegg and, voila, you got your parts. They only fit in one place in one direction. Great. That's where the boring part ends and the fun begins.

Do you know if the demo version is the same as the retail version? I don't FEEL like googling that app that allows me to reset/delete Steam achievements so that I can play demos over and over with time limits... but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I'll do it to prove a point.

I'll take the greater effort of doing that than you by just ... simply downloading the demo and telling me if it performs the same way as the retail version.

Wow dude, what is your deal?

If you want these "timings" add me, but stop this strange aggressive behavior please.

Just matching the energy I'm receiving.. like being called, for all intents and purposes, a BS'er.

I found and downloaded the app. SAM (Steam Achievement Manager).

I don't see anything I can do with the Dead Space demo to reset my play time in it like I was able to do with one of those Resident Evil games that had a time limit or something.

So.. I can't re-download the demo, record my play file with afterburner running and show that it ran smoothly for me.
