Yup, that game was a total Disappointment, I'm glad it's basically a flop, Not even the latest DLC could save how mediocre the game is.
Take a look at the Dead Space original credits some time. You'll notice Schofield didn't direct it, didn't write it, didn't design, it, etc. The guy did nothing more than pitch the concept (which was almost exact what Callisto Protocol became, Dead Space was vastly different than his pitch) and got a producer credit. The guy didn't "make" Dead Space, he's a borderline grifter coasting on stolen credit and his flop of a game he did actually direct shows it.
What's there to update? It was a near perfect release to start with.
but that would be it, besides a couple of bug fixes maybe
Literally, what you're describing is Denuvo, that's not going away until the contract ends. The only "bug" I've experienced thus far is an oversight, where the asteroids explode when going into the mining gravity well, unlike body part pieces and other things that just dissolve / get pulled.
The stutters, high CPU usage, etc, all Denuvo having to decrypt and then encrypt the files. Funny thing, it wasn't even a month after release they found a way to extract all the textures/models. I should know, look at the art on my page, all of those are from the Remake.
