The kinesis feels weird to me.
I'm not sure *what* it is, but something is off with it. I've told this to a few other people and they said they didn't have issues, so I'm wondering if I'm alone in it?
Whether or not it actually works is 50/50 for me. Sometimes, I can aim at a spike I shot off a necromorph and pin it to the wall with its own arm. Sometimes, I'll launch the spike and it'll.. do nothing and limply fall to the floor.
Sometimes I'll aim at something, a spike, fan, explosive, whatever, and it'll pull the object I'm *not* looking at. Instead of a pole I can pin something to a wall with, I get the box that's "Somewhere off to the left of the thing you're looking at."

Am I alone in this?

I think distance matters when launching objects at enemies, if they are too close to you and you try to launch some pole or blade or claw, it won't damage, only if you have enough distance, BUT, also, pay attention to the necromorphs potential armor, necromorphs with still some RIG plating/ribbing on them, or of course brutes and their thick armor areas and such, will also have the same effect, it will limply bounce off instead of impale/cut.

As for pulling objects that weren't what you intended, well, it does happen, but it isn't as bad for me, I tend to aim directly at the thing I want and it tends to pull that, only if there's a pile will it get confusing, but I find that understandable (mouse aiming helps).
Yeah, that's the weird part. I've launched this with a good bit of space between me and the enemy and it just *sometimes* doesn't do stuff.

and aye, I figured out the armour part pretty quickly worry not.

no your not alone. something that annoys me is that unlike deadspace 2 and 3 the devs decided to put heavy aim assist on kenesis throws that you can not turn off. like in dead space 2 if you wanted to use a slasher blade to take out a limb it wont aim for the limb when you shoot it at the limb... it will auto track to center mass.
this is broken especially for pregnate necros as its important you do not shoot the center mass or they will spawn swarmers but aim for the leg with the slasher blade and uh oh it hit the place you were not aiming at because the game decided to hold hands in case some less experienced people missed there kenesis shots and now your dead because you spawned 20 swarmers.

So that's why Isaac would just suddenly decide he wants to throw the explosive canister i picked up offscreen sometimes.

Don't use Line gun with kinesis.

I think when a Necromorph exits from vent they have I-frames during the animation, that's why throwing spikes during those frames deal nothing to them. One of the longest has got to be the Lurker that breaks out of the glass when you're first introduced to them in Medical.
UPDATE: Okay so the Kinesis is just bad due to autoaim. It's really cool getting dumped in a room with armoured necramorphs, aiming for the head or limbs, throwing a spike or pipe at them, and having it *bounce off* their chest armour because the game auto-aims it for centre mass.

A frustrating way to ruin a system that, from my recollection, worked well in dead space 2.
