It shouldn't be a dlc. Remembered what happened to dead space 3? No? They ruined the series with all that paid dlcs / true ending being behind a damn pay wall. Game flopped in sales so EA shut down the studio. We never got a 4th game because of 3 being a failure. Just a stupid cliff ending.
It should be it's own game. Either remastered or remake. I would love to see what the ship was like when people were still alive before the marker thing happens. Hell make it for VR. Now that would be scary.
I don't think the DLC route would be bad for Extraction. The DLC for Dead Space 2 was a direct sequel to Extraction and that was a fine piece of content. That applied the same train of thought that the OP proposed for an Extraction remake.
VR can probably work as an add-on component. As an homage to the original game.
I forgot to mention the vr part- just an optional thing to choose when clicking the play button. I always dreamed about dead space in full on vr. Just the level of awesomeness like half life alyx. But very scary and fun. Just not knowing one is sneaking up behind you in pitch darkness. Oh my lord.
Dude I forgotten about that DLC. I keep forgetting DS2 on steam never brought over that dlc. They should've brought back that dlc + it's achievements. When they released this remake. Oh man... the memories when i played that DLC back on the xbox 360..
