Dead Space Remake is one of the games that always used all threads on my CPU.

It's nowhere near 100% all the time, but this is normal. I've never seen games that completely utilize the cpu, I'm usually GPU-bound.

But a steady 30 to 50% is quite common with this game, other games pale in comparison. ^^

Consequently I see higher CPU temperatures with this game. It's actually quite a nice test for a gaming system.

...which would of course work better without the traversal stutter. -.-

Pretty much the same as to cyberpunk 2077 and its higher temps. As for DSR I get (air, multi fan)

CPU 62c ave, 81c max, 34c min
GPU 64c ave, 72c max, 41c min
GPU hotspot 75c ave, 84c max, 53c min

12700k, 3080 GTX, RTAO.

depends on your cooler and overclock not the game

Also OP never states what he/she thinks is high temps; rather continues the actual original post asking about utilisation.

I also had to learn, in preparation when I upgraded recently, that CPU behavior changed in the last couple of years. Both current Intel and AMD CPUs will always go up to just below their throttle temperature if they can therefore use the highest frequency.

Like 95°C for many of the latest Ryzen 7000 models and for some of the Intel 13th gen, too. Usually only non-x models for AMD and everything below Core i7 13700K will net you lower temperatures if you're not going for some high-end watercooling.

And both AMD and Intel will tell you: That's normal, they can run like that the whole time. I mean I believe them, but it's still a bit scary seeing such temperatures. ^^

I'm running a 7700X with the curve optimizer set to negative 30. My temps reach as high as 95°C when running the game. My average tends to be around the mid-high 80s

ppl who blame games for cpu temps make me want to crush my skull against a bolt

Probably true, but logically I guess it would still be healthier to run at lower temperatures, and for that reason I paid extra for better cooling. Maybe I wasted that money, but on the other hand, I haven't seen my 13900K throttle during gaming.

For me it's gotten worse after the update. Not sure about anyone else.

We still don't know what OP is really asking here. One the one hand...CPU temperatures. On the other hand, he asks if the game makes better use of the CPU, which would drive the temperature up. So is OP against...or for...higher CPU temperatures? :lunar2019laughingpig:
Cephei Feb 19, 2023 @ 3:44pm
3080 RTX, 58c max, 55c average.
Ryzen 7 5800x3D , 75c max, 70c average

DLSS 2.5.1 balanced, RT on, all settings Ulta, 4k resolution 60fps locked.

Normally my system is very quiet but I can actually hear the CPU fan now sometimes.
In most other games the cpu temperatures goes in the mid 50s or low 60s

you guys really gotta get better case, fans and cpu cooler, stop blaming games for your overheating issues

does lowering graphical setting, no rt and lock 60 fps solves the cpu temp? just asking

well, i use watercooler, in an air conditioned room set to 19°c which is super cold for me and no i didnt overclock instead i underclock it.

other games like dota 2, cyberpunk 2077, callisto, spiderman remastered, etc. cpu temp was about 34°c - 41°c up and down between that number.

on the other hand, dead space remake im constantly on 44°c maintained. i dont like constantly maintained in 44°c throughout my playthrough its like purposely degrading my cpu lifespan.

sure hope it will be patches up at 1.05
