Do Phantom Necromorphs Appear on Impossible Mode? [Update 23.2.23]

Im planning on playing IMPOSSIBLE mode with plasma cutter only to get both achievement, though Im concern about PHANTOM necromorphs depleting my HP and ammo quickly. Do phantoms appear on IMPOSSIBLE mode too? I finish the game twice, on regular difficulty and New Game+ [Hard]. Phantoms on HARD mode are very tanky. Direct hit with one exploding tank does not kill them.

ofc they will. Impossible is just hard difficulty with one save slot and only one life. If you died. Pause quickly to reload save or alt f4

tbh i would do cutter only on story or easy as there is no reason to torture yourself. you can do that achievement on any difficulty. phantom necros will only appear on impossible NG+ since you have to start impossible from a clean file.

Phantom necromorphs only spawn on NG+.

I know for sure one spawns from a vent as you get the Stasis Prototype Module in a normal playthrough, i.e, non-NG+ run.

I have completed Impossible mode. Phantoms do not appear unless it is your NG+ Impossible playthrough.

You can not play NG+ in impossible mode.
Impossible mode is only to unlock the handcannon and suit.

If you go NG+ on impossible you simply just lose all your items from your last completed save and you are playing Impossible mode again with no NG+ enemies.

Game even warns you that impossible mode is a one time playthough mode. You cannot play NG+ on that difficulty if you complete it.

If you know where to aim to kill necromorphs fast it won't be a problem.
Just sell the medium and big healling items and buy nodes. Your plasma cutter will kill anything if upgraded and you won't need other guns.

Honestly, doing the one gun run on impossible actually makes it significantly easier, since the plasma cutter is the best weapon in the game, you'll end up with more ammo than you actually need and you only have to focus on upgrading it and your suit.

No you can not. I completed on Impossible on day 1 and when you go to NG+ and choose the cleared Impossible save slot, you do not start with Lvl5 suit that was from your previous save and you have nothing in the store inventory. Game even warns you that Impossible mode is always from scratch and does not work with NG+.

I just tested it and you can definitely do NG+ on an clear impossible slot and it lets you choose impossible again as the difficulty with all the previous gear.

Interesting ! When I completed it did not work, then again maybe they patched it out. I did complete it during its 1.0 version so to speak. I might need to give it another go.
However you did not show me further that you actually have your gear, so that proves almost nothing but your words !
