Go back to any game from that time and you’ll find it hard to enjoy them all.
Everyone that would boot up a game from their childhood or from more than a decade ago would start to see the flaws of their ''perfect old games''.
I think I should play on and get into the game properly, because the location in the hospital is hardly exciting.
Yeah I was thinking that. I googled 'Dead Space levels' to work out how far ahead the USG Ishimura is.
However after playing on anyway, it did pick somewhat visually.
See when you start, you're wearing a straight-jacket with barely any bump-mapping. Then you get a low end rig which looks old and crusty. Then however first store you get to, you get the best suit you had last, with New Game Plus.
The new suit art-style would actually pass in today's graphics, albeit it looking a little dated. It's a great suit. Generally the graphics picked up a little anyway.
I think there is another play in it even for veterans of the game. For newcomers to the franchise, I think it would be a good experience.
It did look a little dated in the starting areas. Like when you go through an area with glass windows in the floor, which were the cells for the patients. There are holographic monitors on desks. That used to look pretty good, but now it looks painfully old, with such little overall detail, so few objects.
Agreed though, the ark corridors of the USG Ishimura, and those blue lights. They were special times.
Still, for how old it is, it holds up very well.. until you play this game. XD
Think SP2 is dated, try booting up DS1 (2008) after playing the remake.

It partly prompted me to take another look at DS2.
