One Gun Achievement Questions

So, I'm obviously aware you can only use the Plasma Cutter gun wise, but can you also use stomping and explosives to kill enemies or does it have to be literally just the Plasma Cutter for every single kill? Basically, I've just shot an explosive canister by accident and I've killed some Necromorphs by stomping on them to save ammo not really thinking about it and now I'm wondering if I have to restart the whole game to get the achievement.

That's a good question. I don't imagine stomping or kinetics would matter but I would like to know for sure

Stomping and shooting explosives with the plasma cutter is ok.
I got the achievement.

I don't actually know for the remake but in the original game you just couldnt fire another gun. You could use kinesis, explosives and melee no worries. I would imagine it would be the same.

No other WEAPON, but TK throws and shooting/throwing explosive barrels is all good

Just to clarify further, in case anyone is doing what I did: Picking up new weapons is fine, so long as you do not equip them. I can't confirm if equipping them breaks the achievement, but you can pick them up if you're starting a fresh file.

I recommend still not picking up new weapons. Mainly to keep plasma cutter ammo the only ammo type that spawns in.

The achievement description doesn't specifically clarify that though, which is why I was concerned. The exact wording is "Beat the game using only the Plasma Cutter.", which if taken literally, would mean that stomping/explosives are also off limits. Good to know that's not the case though.

The ammo mechanic should still work if they are in your storage... no?

You can use every utility at your disposal, you just cant fire any gun besides the plasma cutter

Sry for necro, but I had to warn people : equipping is enough to ruin this achievment. I just finished the game and never shot once with any extra weapon other than plasma cutter. But since I had it equipped once for the sake of testing the quick swap feature early in the game, it probably broke my chances of having this achievement.
I love the remake but this is amateur work regardless.
