Can you use the Foam Finger for One Gun achievement?

Hey so I beat the impossible difficulty but still need to run another time to get the one gun achievement which makes you use only plasma cutter, I was wondering if maybe using the foam finger/ hand cannon was still allowed or no?

Yes you can you can carry and upgrade all the guns, you can’t just shoot them

you literally cannot use any other weapon besides plasma cutter at the start, the game forces you to use it first

I'll wind up collecting this thing, just like I did the first time around, and I'll use it just as much - that is, once, because it was so terribly cheesy and lame the first time around, it can't be anything but in the remake.

you can only use the plasma cutter from start to finish just like the original game.

HOWEVER you should carry the contact beam so you can collect its ammo and sell it
