They bludgeon you over the head with TMI too early on all the backstory, ruining any surprises that new players might have had, had they played the original. They break canon by talking about convergence (which you don't learn about until late Dead Space 2), AND they telegraph that Nicole is dead, over and over and over again. Thank god I already played the original back in the day, This thing is just terrible.
Combat is pretty sweet though.
