You're so next to the plate with this statement. It's far from that level.
Heard of Dino Crisis 3 ? Imagine a sci-fi scenario about genetics BUT the writer knew nothing about how that works...
Well yeah, that's the plot of the original Dead Space, only it was exceptional in it's story delivery... In 2023, it's just terrible. Kind of like Phase 4 of the MCU.
The reason that people like it is, and always has been, due to the gameplay.
Wrong-O my friend. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
OG Dead Space, back in 2008, was very well done. Was considered truly terrifying at the time. It's old now, but in its heyday it was a standout.
No, they made it stupid.
First, they telegraph everybody's intentions. They break canon by letting you know the marker is trying to consume people (which again, you don't actually learn until Dead Space 2). They also make it super obvious that Nicole is dead and not real (which again, was a major reveal in the original game). And, they let you know the marker is onboard very early in the game. Again, this was a major reveal late in the game from the original.
All of this mind you, is revealed within the first 4-5 chapters of the game. It's just bad writing.
And don't get me started on the pacing of the game. Nothing ever feels like it's urgent in Dead Space 2023. In the original, the other characters around you are in a semi-state of panic, and you're given the vibe that you need to hurry. That time is of the essence. In Dead Space 2023, you might as well take a nap, read a book, or watch some Space TV. No hurry!
I agree with your statements.
Still, there are some parts added that were interesting like the last conversation between Isaac and Nicole before the outbreak.
Nothing feels urgent in any game, don't know where you get that feeling from, you've already played the OG, nothing will come off as a surprise.
You're blinded by nostalgia.
Nope, you're just seeing the original with nostalgia goggles on.
