Ripper or Flamethrower?

I got a powernode and both weapons yet I am so torn since I love both weapons but they overlap a bit in fuction.

Flamethrower is pretty much only good for 1 thing and that one thing doesn't happen too often.

Flamethrower; it's so absolutely busted in this remake. The Flame Wall it creates stops necromorphs in their tracks and deals damage over time to them. It also seems to increase damage done by other weapons while they're on fire. It trivialized several encounters on Impossible for me to the point I finished them without even having to move from one spot.

Flamethrower and Ripper were both hugely buffed in the remake. They keep enemies at bay and they can't do anything to stop it.

Both are good for the little tiny enemies so choose which you prefer. Never a big flamethrower user in games and I like how the ripper shows off the gore system.

i love the ripper but theres 1 type of enemy just perfect for the flamer (the swarm things) i just use cutter and rifle but for the swarm i enjoy flamer
