The Pulse Rifle is trash

Its been trash in the original game. Keep your plasma cutter within reach. Archimedes moved the earth with a lever, and Isaac cuts the earth with his plasma cutter.

I get you man, I have played OG dead space several times on hard and pulse rifle was a reliable weapon, now im stuck in chapter 3 with the freakin tentacle grab, i used to drill the tentacle sack with 50 riffle rounds, now i use over 100 rounds with primary and second weapon mode, and nothing, what the hell.

Use the grenade launcher on it, upgrade damage, use for certain occasions like boss fights, etc.

I'm trying but i'm playing on hard I always run out of ammo with the plasma cutter and forced to use the pulse rifle

The pulse rifle in EVERY Dead Space is trash... Its essentially the 'Klob' gun from golden-eye, your 'automatic' with wetnoodle energy

yea it makes sense why security was having a terrible time with the freaks. id keep another gun on you for your safety.

What are you talking about? Its exactly as it was in DS1. It is lame at the start, but scales nicely, and if upgraded becomes my most trusty weapon. especially since it has a proximity bomb now for alt-fire.

ALSO, for any who arent horror survivor /DS vets, if you upgrade capacity on HP or ammo, you refill the clip for free. I empty the clip of every weapon literally every time I upgrade capacity for it. The Pulse rifle has lots of capacity upgrades and using this tactic repeatedly, even just for the pulse rifle, can make a huge difference in how many resources youre able to hang on to throughout the whole game. Ive been riding on free ammo refills for like the last 3 hours of my game, just stockpiling ammo pickups.

Yall are just bad. The pulse rifle is fantastic. I'm currently half way through the game and have 1K extra pulse ammo in storage. Upgraded, it just melts limbs and has RE4 TMP levels of ammo

I've never personally upgraded it to know whether or not the primary fire is good or bad, but pulse grenades are great. They are good for crowd control stagger and knocking legs off necros.

I never really liked it myself in any of the other games either, uses ammo too fast, not as effective at dismembering
I always preferred the plasma cutter, force gun, flamethrower and one extra
