I'm actually playing with the same controller. No issues whatsoever. I'm playing wireless over the ASUS 500 bluetooth dongle
hey mate, xbox series x controller works fine on my side but I can understand your frustration. Try a couple of things to be checked.
1. try connecting your controller via USB cable for a minute to see if that works for you and then disconnect it to be used via Bluetooth.
2. Check Xbox accessories app on Windows and connect your controller via USB to check if there are some updates in terms of firmware and if windows recognized it correctly.
3. check Bluetooth options on windows and remove other devices that might interfere with your Bluetooth connection for your controller plus a good option will be removing your controller from the list and going through the pairing process once again.
Launch Big Picture mode on Steam;
MENU -> Configuration -> Controllers;
Check the option "Enable Steam input for Xbox controllers";
Download "Xbox Extended Feature Support Driver";
Restart your PC;
Start Steam;
Open "Big Picture mode"; and
Start your game from the "Big Picture Mode".
