FYI Denuvo is not being cracked any more.
To all you who say "It will be cracked", no it will not.

The latest version of Denuvo DRM has never been cracked. Only one person publicly admits to trying and they are not succeeding.

Myself, I won't buy -D games because of the online requirement. It means I don't "own" what I gave my money for, I'm only renting and the software may stop functioning at any time.

If and when they make uncrackable DRM that does not require an online connection, I'll start buying games with it.

I have the money but I want to own what I spend it on, not rent.

hello newsflash. anything you buy on steam you don't own. you are given a license to play the game for as long as you hold the license. You don't own any games any more and D has nothing to do with it. It's steam that decided this. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Sad but true, it's not because Denuvo is ironclad it's because the scene stopped trying.

Denuvo isn't being cracked mostly because there haven't been many recent games worth wasting time on.
They gave up no reason to keep pleasing the people that constantly talk ♥♥♥♥ about you.

I'm sure they'll be crying and begging EMPRESS to do something, meanwhile they lost all their good will with that user.

EMPRESS charges $500 just to request them to crack a game.

this.
On any online store, if you really read into ToS and such it clearly state you just got a license to play the games. Kinda like how netflix works, you pay to watch movies and shows, you do not own them.

Also in reality you didn't own any games you bought with a physical copy, you just bought a disk with the game on it, but you still just paid to play the games, not own them. Ofc they had no way to actually enforce anything with physical disks.

Sounds like they doing it right then, you pirates that want everything for free well here's my fine so you all can have it for free. Cracking isn't some sit on the computer for an hour and done.

Denuvo is in the games code so the people actually cracking the game do a lot of work.

The scene mostly stopped because they hired some of the people who used to do it to make it harder. I can't blame the people for accepting the job. If your choices are potentially jail or a paying job, which one would you take?

I don't necessarily agree with this sentiment. Monster Hunter Rise and Persona 5 Royal are really good games.

The issue might be as you've said though anyway because Switch emulation is enough of an alternative to make it not worth going after titles like these. Hogwarts Legacy is in a similar boat. Denuvo protected. But the switch version will be pirated and emulated even if it's the worst version of the game. So is it worth the time?

If you buy digital in a platform like this you own nothing anyways. The closer to own a thing on digital is GOG, you don't need the launcher to play their games and you can store it locally to install them later, and still, legally, I think is still a license to play it, but without DRM and the capability to store without any connection or check to install is about the same as own it.

back in the day it was to prove it could be done, that DRM was completely worthless, sadly the current Denuvo is a monster of the scenes own creation...
