if you started on hard you should finish on hard, there shouldn't be a way to go up or down in difficulty mid-game
Well I just wanted to know, but since you went there, it just gives players options without restarting an entire campaign. It doesn't hurt anyone that doesn't use it if they don't want to.

But why don't you like it? Just don't do it then. Some of us don't have a ridiculous amount of time to game and would rather notch the difficulty down if we realize we made a mistake rather than having to start over. Yes I know what get gud is.
Its not online competition or a leaderboard thing. If you want limitation apply them to you. More options are always better, if a person like to sneak and cheese they way in a game doing that, let them. Its a single player game, let people do what they want.
