Saw some claims that disabling Control Flow Guard (a Windows security setting) fixes the stuttering / hiccups

Does it really work? I would test it but I don't have the game.

How to turn off CFG: Go to Settings - Update & Security - Windows Security - App & Browser Control - Exploit Protection Settings - Set control flow guard to off by default.

They’re stopping support on Origin, my gf had it and it was a nightmare to remove from my PC lol. They swapped it out for the EA app, which appears to be a lot better than origin.

It works wonders on other games with which I had stutters or DX12 ending up in crashes after 10 minutes. Battlefront 2 Star Wars and MS Flight Simulator 2020 are the 2 games I'm currently playing and disabling control flow as explained in that video floating around did do the trick...do my dismay! Years of playing DX11 on various games because of all this.

My take on this stutter gate plaguing games is that it's most likely OS environment and implementation of DX12 and other misc stuff but not intrinsically games.

I kind of remember some particular Windows setting that came with one of the Unwanted Feature Updates... something that was supposed to "help" with frame rates, but really wasn't doing much, if anything at all, but I think that UFU enabled it by default... I just can't remember what it was called, and no, not the game bar, but do turn that off too - you'll appreciate it. Turn it on if you actually need it, otherwise, turn it off.

Well, when you're poor enough to not spend money on conveniences, it must seem like a pretty arbitrary thing to spend money on. Why would I go and buy a ferrari with all my money instead of a Jetta?

Sorry, let me try again. When you're poor, high end expresso machines might just seem like wasting money on an inconvenience. After all, why don't I just spend all my money on this 20$ coffee machine instead?
