Deleted save files

Game's been acting up like a lot of people are saying, been dealing with constant crashes and there seems to be no fix for it, but recently on one of the last crashes the game wiped my save file on chapter 5, any help? guess i'll have to wait for EA to clean this poorly optimized game

I don't know what your problems are. I've been playing for 11 hours and in all that time there have been absolutely no problems with the game.

I have this issue, too. The saves are not deleted, they are in the documents\Dead Space (2023)\settings\steam folder for me but not accessible in the game.

The moment I saved, the game froze my PC to an extend where even holding the mechanical power button for >4 seconds did not do anything.

But this did not work for me. Even after deleting the saveslots file, I can only enter the game and start a new game. The "load game" menu item is greyed out.

This is sad because the save files are clearly there. Even if one got corrupted, I have another one because I did alternating saves... For exactly that reason.

Is there anything that we can do?

Are the devs aware? This needs more attention. I cannot believe that only a few people are experiencing this...

I tried the same thing and it still plays the new save file, sucks.
Hope it gets addressed in a future patch or something

This happened to me today, I was in chapter 6. I can still see my savefiles but the game just wont load them and I can not continue. What a f*** garbage.

Did Motive push an update? I don't recall this game getting any updates since launch and if it did, it's all been hush hush, and perhaps not worth noting? Did they sneak in anti-tamper or something last minute? As far as I know the update history for this game is non-existant.
