Level 6 suit with Level 5 suit appearance

Managed to do some glitch where I had the Level 6 suit stats (30% armor) with the Level 5 suit appearance. I don't know if it was a fluke or if it can be repeated, but here's exactly what I did:

I was at the store in the Flight Deck Tram Station during Chapter 11
I switched to the Burnished suit skin
I switched to the DS-08 suit skin
I unequipped the DS-08 suit skin
I bought the Level 6 suit upgrade

After I bought it I came out of the suit kiosk still wearing the level 5 suit, but I had the level 6 suit stats. I saved a reloaded and nothing changed. If it turns out other people can replicate the results, I might have to make it into a guide. If I can figure out how to post a screenshot, I'll show some proof.

I was able to replicate this twice. Difference on my end, I'm in chapter 7 and already using the Burnished suit before switching to DS-08.

But I haven't saved yet so I can't verify if it stays after a reload or after a game restart.
It reverts to level 6 appearance if you equip something else then unequipped.

Also don't know it if will stay with the level 5 appearance after clearing the game and starting another new game+ with it.

I figured the chapter wouldn't matter, but still wanted to mention it just in case. Yeah, I have a feeling the loading zone between chapter 11 and 12 will probably fix it too. I'm about to go into chapter 12 so I'll update with the results

Ok, wasn't a real loading zone from chapter 11 to 12, must have gotten it mixed up with the original. Still have the level 5 suit appearance

Also, restarting the game does not fix the bug thankfully

Can confirm I have the same problem . After finishing the game on Hard I started NG+ , got the lv 6 suit and it still looks like lv 5 .

Did you swap between suit skins before you bought the upgrade, or did you just go straight for it?

I only have the classic suit but I don't remember swapping to it before getting the lv 6 suit .

Dang, was hoping that switching suit skins would be how you'd replicate the bug

I just went in the game and equipped the classic ( " legacy " ) suit and then unequipped it and it solved the problem , now the lv6 suit appears correctly .

It's good that it can be fixed. My interest in the bug is because I know that some people (myself included) don't really care for the style of the soldier suit, and would prefer to keep the level 5 engineer suit appearance, so this bug is something I want to learn how to replicate and share.

True , it does suck that you can't go back to the engineer appearance .

it should appear if you take off the cosmetic armor

see, I dont understand how to do that. I tried looking at the way others have said to do, but the option doesnt show up for me
