the main menu of this game is completely broken lol

When i say main menu, i'm not talking about the RIG/Inventory or anything.

I mean the actual main menu. When you start the game, after the title screen. The menu where you can continue, load a game, start a new game etc.

Everytime i started the game, the main menu would be "frozen", can't navigate through it, it doesn't show anything. But at least I could blindly hit spacebar to press the "continue" button, which would load my latest save. Weird but ok.

But now I finished the game. I want to start a new game.

But oh boi xD the sheer fact of "going" into that main menu is hell.

As I explained : it's broken. So i can't just start the game and expect to see the main menu. So i tried to my "press spacebar blindly to continue", and from here press "back to main menu" by pressing escape.

Except it doesn't work.

Infinite loading.

So then, i found out that If i let ALL the trigger warningd/sponsors/logo play out when i boot the game, i eventually manage to reach the main menu, Hurray !

so now, I press "start a new game" and pick the Impossible mode. -> loading screen. Aaaand

... It brings me back to the main menu.

wtf.

So i do it again : "new game" -> "impossible"

-> infinite loading

-> crashes.



Man, this game main menu is the strongest ennemy in the game.

20 years i play video games, i never saw a game that had its main menu completely broken. That's a first

now i can't get back to the menu at all...

It's always frozen and invisible with a zoomed picture of a save station.

How the ♥♥♥♥ do I even reach the main menu now ?

Dude, you think that is bad? I several times even DIDN'T HAVE any main menu UI. Just the view of the last save place and Isaac standing there. I had to memorise where each main menu button is located.

While invisible, it is still there. You can hear it scrolling when you press up or down.

Yeah the main menu for me runs at about 10 fps maybe, unless I go a few sub menus deep, then it goes to 60, every single time. In game it's mostly fine except for those traversal stutters everyone is getting. I'm on a Radeon 6700 XT, so probably a mixture of driver/game issues.

And I can successfully load my saved game maybe 1/4 times I try to lol, other times it goes to a black screen and I have to crash it out. Until I realized this, I would start a game and then come back to it, then think I'd have to restart, but oh no - if I try to start a new game with my old save files present, it goes back to the menu, then goes black, but if I remove the save games from the folder, it will start a new game fine. It's bananas. Finally, the intro movie with Nicole lags TERRIBLY until it gets close to the end, then bam, 60 fps, every single time. Lot of quirks. They need to fix it.

The only way I could start a new game is by removing my old save files from the save game folder - as in, go and move them outside that folder altogether. Any other time I tried to start a new game with old save files present, it would infinitely load nothing and I'd have to crash it out.

Yeah i just finished the game for my first run and....ho boy.....closed out to do some editing and whatnot and wanted to start my NG+ with all the nifty stuff and i cant even get to the invisible save station menu anymore. it loads to a black screen with a blue "press E to activate" pop up and no matter how many keys i mash im getting nowhere.....guess the game is only playable ONCE....and this isnt the first time either. it happened CONSTANTLY, from the very beginning.....

I get the same exact thing, I play once and then I load to the main menu with the save station on the wall and no ui or anything.

Hell i dont even get the save station wall anymore....its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and has made the game literally unplayable.....

Ok so if you manage to actually get into the game, back out to main menu FROM the game and (for me at least) it should actually load the main menu properly. I did this after just clicking blindly to start a new game, and once I loaded back to the main menu it was there. Picked my NG+ Hard run and went from there. Hopefully if you're having this problem this is a work-around.

Ive tried to do this so many times now, but when i AM able to get into the game and hit main menu, it brings me right back to the blue text box with E to activate. i even jsut did a run where i loaded in, dropped all my graphics settings to as low as they go (just in case it was a rendering issue) and STILL....tiny blue box.....

I'm also getting the same problem. right now I dont really care cuz im doing my first play through, but idk what Im gonna do once thats over. This is definitely an issue they need to work on, theres no way this menu bug is because I'm playing on a 2070, they just need to fix it
